This project is perfect for beginners, and it only requires a few simple steps. So gather up some paper and get ready to create your own origami teddy bear!
How To Make A Simple Origami Teddy Bear Video Instructions
There you have it! This video I have made should make it more than easy enough to create your first origami teddy bear! You can get as funky and creative as you want with this design! Use whatever colored paper you want and decorate your bear to fit exactly what you imagined. How To Make A Simple Origami Teddy Bear Step-By-Step Instructions
1. Creating Initial Creases
Begin with a square piece of paper, fold it in half horizontally and vertically, and then unfold it. This will create creases that intersect at the center of the paper.
2. Folding Left and Right Corners Inward
Fold the left and right corners of the paper towards the center, aligning them with the creases created in step 1. Follow the lines shown in the reference image and press the folds firmly.
3. Folding Left and Right Sides Inward
Now fold the left and right sides of the paper inward along the lines indicated in the reference image. Press the folds firmly to create sharp creases.
4. Returning to the Original Square
Carefully open up the paper all the way back to its original square shape, revealing the creases from the previous folds.
5. Folding the Left Side Inward
Fold the left side of the paper over the solid lines shown above.
6. Folding the Corner Back Out
Take the corner created in step 5 and fold it back out to the left, making sure it hangs over the edge of the paper. Press the fold firmly.
7. Repeating Steps on the Right Side
Now, repeat steps 5 and 6 on the right side of the paper to create a symmetrical shape.
8. Folding Both Side Corners Inward
Fold over the solid lines on both sides of the paper as shown above.
9. Opening Up the Paper
At the points indicated by the two small arrows, lift the paper up and gently push it flat down, following the existing creases.
10. Checking the Shape
Verify that your paper now looks like the shape shown in the reference image. Then, take the top layer corner and fold it down along the solid line.
11. Making Two Small Folds
Make two small folds over the solid lines as shown above.
12. Folding the Top Down
Take the top of the paper and fold it down along the solid line. Press the fold firmly to create a sharp crease.
13. Folding Back Along the Arrows
Fold the paper back where both arrows are pointing along the solid lines.
14. Creating Teddy Bear Ears
Perform two pleat folds to shape the teddy bear’s ears, following the guidance provided in the reference image.
15. Giving the Bear a 3D Appearance
Gently fold the paper in half, creating a slight curve to give the bear a 3D appearance.
16. Admiring the Final Origami Teddy Bear
Congratulations! You have successfully completed your origami teddy bear. Take a moment to admire your intricate creation and consider making more to create a delightful collection of paper bears.
